I used to take COCs, which affected my liver. After researching, I found silymarin on iHerb and began using double-strength capsules. This summer, while combating allergies alongside licorice extract, I surprisingly managed without antihistamines, experiencing no nasal congestion, cough, or eye irritation. I highly recommend silymarin, both on its own and in combination with other treatments for allergies.

Ulcers improved
I’ve ordered silymarin for my mother numerous times during her chemotherapy for liver cancer. It effectively alleviated the skin ulcers caused by treatment, and it helped prevent dryness in her mucous membranes and stop her cough. After two weeks of taking the 100 capsules, the ulcers vanished, leading us to purchase 200 capsules. This product truly works and I highly recommend it.

After a week of using silymarin, I developed hives and a cough, so I stopped taking it and my cough ceased. Unfortunately, this supplement didn't suit me, and I noticed it worsened my allergic reactions. Those allergic to ragweed and similar plants should be cautious with this product.

I was on silymarin for two months but didn't notice any effect. I preferred taking milk thistle instead, which benefitted my liver significantly. While silymarin helped with cough to some extent, I found it lacking in other benefits that I experienced with natural alternatives.
